The Campsite / Der Platz

The Campsite Schwalkenberg is situated away from the hussle of the daily traffic, in the attractive countryside on the Eastbanks of the Ratzeburg Lake. With a unique view of the Cathederal you are assured of a relaxing and restful visit.

The wonderful countryside invites you to go by bike, or wander along the banks of the Ratzeburg Lake, alternatively you can go sailing, and Courses (for Groups) can also be arranged if required. Enjoy sightseeing in the nearby cities of Hamburg, Lübeck (Luebeck) or Travemünde (Travemuende) direct on the Baltic Sea, or visit the wonderful historic Castle in Schwerin. To bring the day to an end enjoy a bar-be-que or an evening at the Campfire.

Domestic Pets are also welcome on the Camping Site. You will find the Campingsite spaces for Tents and Caravans/Mobile homes on a sunny dry meadow, under the shaddow of the Beech Trees. Facilites for slipping Boats and spaces for guests Boats are available on our own Footbridge. Canoes, Pedalboats and Rowingboats are available for hire direct on the Campingsite.

On site are new modernised sanitation with Disabled Facilities. showers can be taken at no extra charge. But of course a swim in the Ratzeburg Lake is also refreshing and relaxing. There are facilities on site for Washing up/Crockery, Washing maschines and dryers are also available for use at a small charge on site.

We also exchange Gas Bottles and Sanitary Waster Disposal area are also available for Caravans and Mobil homes. At our Kiosk you can order Fresh Bread Rolls and local Newspapers, small grocery items are also available.
